Protecting Stamped Asphalt

Asphalt stamping allows asphalt to be used in a decorative manner, but if asphalt does not have an asphalt seal coat applied, the asphalt can begin to deteriorate and become unsightly. Freshly laid asphalt tends to have a rich, dark color. As asphalt ages, it can dry out and lose its color and also begin to crack. An asphalt seal coat helps keep asphalt from deteriorating by keeping it from drying out. Asphalt will normally need to have an asphalt seal coat applied every 2 to 3 years, but if the asphalt receives heavy traffic or extreme weather, it may need to have an asphalt seal coat applied more often.
