Few Facts On Heavy Equipment Operator Training

18 states have licensing requirements for heavy equipment operators. One must have a high school diploma or GED. You would definitely want to be in good health/physical condition due to the lifting and constant bending and moving you have to do. A driver’s license is required and of course you must complete the actual heavy equipment operator training. This training can consist of learning the wheel loader, tractor and backhoe operations. A DOT physical is required and most if not all companies will conduct a background check. Training can be as short as three weeks or even as on the job training.
